Set within the rich cinematic space of a southern Chinese eatery, the film presents the lives of ordinary people swept up in the currents of modern society, seen through the lens of sociology student Mao Guo. A-Xia, unfamiliar with social etiquette and institutional rules, nevertheless radiates human warmth and resilience.
