Beneath the Waves
0.00 90 minutes After a perilous journey across the Mediterranean, Eva (12) and Rami (6) finally reach Europe. Separated from their parents during the crossing, they end up in a refugee camp. Weeks turn into months. Rami, longing for their parents, believes they're in the mermaid Vegas world, a safe place their mother sang about in a lullaby. Eva, fearing they drowned, dismisses this as fantasy.One evening, Rami sneaks out to the beach and spots a luminescent mareel in the sea, which his mother said marked the entry to Vega's world. As he wades in, he grows a mermaids tail and jubilantly calls for Eva. Convinced, she joins him, and together they dive into Vegas world, determined to find their parents.
